What License(s) does JumpStart fall under?

JumpStart has a few different licensing schemas to choose from.  Each license type is meant to fulfill the specific needs of a particular client type.  These licenses (in brief) are (click title for full license):

Free for Freeware ($0.00):

  • You do not plan on profiting from the game or games that you produce.
  • You may accept donations to your cause as long as they don’t exceed the Indie licensing costs for your game.
  • You do not have to pay to receive this license.
  • You may publish your game (for free) ANYWHERE!
  • You cannot transfer this license to ANYONE!
  • You must display the JumpStart and Eon Clash logos some place within your games startup screen(s).
  • As long as you stay within the rights above you pay no royalties.

Indie ($100.00 US per game):

  • Your game will make less then $250,000 per year.
  • You may accept donation to your cause as well as charge for your game or product.
  • You must purchase the license before the re-distribution of your game exceeds the license cost.
  • You must display the JumpStart and Eon Clash logos some place within your games startup screen(s).
  • You may purchase a Commercial license to allow for Commercial rights at any time.
  • If your game exceeds $250,000 per year you must purchase a Commercial license.
  • As long as you stay within the rights above you pay no royalties.
  • You may publish your game ANYWHERE!

Commercial ($500 US per game):

  • You do not need to display the JumpStart or Eon Clash logos anywhere.
  • You may transfer the license ownership.
  • You may publish your game ANYWHERE!
  • You pay no royalties.

 Educational Usage ($0.00):

  • You are planning on teaching students about game development.
  • You do not plan on re-distributing the games created outside of the schools main channel.
  • You do not have to pay to receive this license.
  • You may NOT publish your game ANYWHERE except within schools main channel.
  • You (or a student creator) may license a created game under any other acceptable license listed above at any time.
  • You must display the JumpStart and Eon Clash logos some place within your games startup screen(s).

NOTE: You within the above licenses accounts to you personally and as an entity in the case of Commercial, Indie Companies, and Educational Facilities.
